The “Community Is More Important Than Your Portfolio” panel from BTC Prague 2026, moderated by Caitlin Prince, with Daniel Prince (Once BITten, Club Orange), Hynek Jína (Trezor) and me for BTC Map.
- Bitcoin is worth nothing without Bitcoiners, so measuring success purely in price while never spending it works against the price.
- Spenders matter more than merchants: a restaurant near the venue works because we eat there every week, not because it signed up once.
- Start with one peer and find your people — Club Orange, BTC Map’s communities — then close the loop so merchants can spend what they take.
- Where it already works: Berlin in El Salvador with around 300 merchants, and parallel systems like homeschooling and local food networks.
- The real barrier is UX, not ideology: meet people where they are, custodial first, sovereignty later.
